Sing To Me 03:56
Sing To Me However far you are... When the storm breaks you are the stillness at its core and I will find my way to you however far you are sing to me my darling your voice it calls me home When nothing makes sense and there is chaos all around I will listen for your voice inside the madness of this crowd sing to me my darling your voice it calls me home you know it's love when it changes you When the night falls and there are no stars in the sky I will lay down by your side and hold you till the daylight sing to me my darling your voice it calls me home you know it's love when it changes you

At The Very Centre At the very centre of this room where the sun waits for us every morning every morning And now in the afternoon in a patch of sunlight on the floorboards on the floorboards At the very centre of this room is you Where the apple blossoms fall like torn paper in the long grass in the long grass Lie down with me and we'll watch the clouds in a blue sky in a blue sky Where the apple blossoms fall is you There will be sunshine and rain there will be joy there'll be pain Just as the night follows day At the very centre will be you At the very centre of these days that are overflowing hear the children laughing hear the children laughing When the day is done through our window the moon will find us the moon will find us At the very centre of this room is you Watch the leaves fall down without a sound as the days go on and on See the clouds drift by in the bluest sky as the days go on and on See the sun go down and the stars come out as the days go on and on Watch the moon rise high lighting up the sky as the days go on and on

Save Us 05:25
Save Us An avenue of trees my decision to leave the weight I carry out the door and there are reasons to stay I count them like loose change so easy to give away, again I take life as I find it I saw the light got blinded waiting for the time to be right but you just let me down I heard it all round the town why d'you come around why d'you come around? Save our souls save us from ourselves
4.
Chalk Circle 03:56
Chalk Circle I turn to see you at the top of the stairs swaying you've got your eyes on the ground like it's all that keeps you from falling the door is open wide you've got no reason to go inside I've got the kids in the car their bags packed for the weekend and they don't understand but they feel it I take your kids from you when I take my kids with me and we break our promises I'm going to swim in the ocean and cut my hair Drive out of this city and clear my head I'm wearing a shirt I borrowed from a friend Makes me feel like someone else like I could be Somebody else I turn to see you at the top of the stairs swaying and the pain in your eyes it's the same pain I'm feeling the door is open wide I think you want me to come inside and we break our promises some things you've got to break to make them new
5.
I Want You Here With Me I want you here with I want you here with Like the river wants the sea I want you here with Don't you turn away Don't you turn away The road will rise again Don't you turn away It's your heart that knows a kindred soul the way back home Your heart it won't be told Your heart it won't be told However young However old Your heart it won't be told It's your heart that knows a kindred soul the way back home When are you coming home?

Pandora 05:09
Pandora I'm sure you know my name at least you've heard my story some call me the mother of trouble I'm not the mother of anybody So tell me what would you do if you were to walk in my shoes? He gives you a gift tells you not to open it hands you a box tells you to keep a lid on it I'll take my share of the blame ask him to do the same I'm gonna fill your eyes with visions not forgotten once they're free my name is Pandora don't you blame your sins on me It was a box of darkness complete with stars I swear I held the universe felt it slipping through my hands He knew my curiosity was stronger than duty he needed me to open it so he could wash his hands of it I saw through his game I opened it just the same I'm sure you know my name at least you've heard my story some call me the mother of trouble I'm not the mother of anybody My name means bringer of gifts ask my dad what he meant by it I'm gonna fill your eyes with darkness till the beauty shines like stars bright enough to break my father's heart bright enough to break my father's heart

With Your Eyes Closed You know her heartbeat and the rhythm of her breath You know the song in her voice and how the laughter shakes her You know her with your eyes closed You know the sound of her bare feet on the floor You know the coffee on the stove, the key turn in the door You know this place with your eyes closed Listen for the whale song of the train wheels on the tracks The cockies in the tree the purring of the cat There are so many people who are dying to meet you Welcome back to Dorisville, welcome back home From all of us at Dorisville, we can't wait to have you home This world will fill your heart up This world will blow your mind And anytime you need someone We won't be hard to find We'll see you back at Dorisville We'll see you back home Whenever you're at Dorisville You won't ever be alone You'll never be alone

Shine 02:24
Shine I hate to see you this way I hate to see you down If I could I'd give you eyes to see the joy that's all around Your love she wants no more than to see you smile lift the darkness from your eyes and let the sunlight shine Mary-Jane she'll keep your council on any day you choose In the end you need her more than she needs you She's the poison and the cure the shelter and the storm Won't you come inside today and let us keep you warm We all need someone to share the road We all need someone to help us with the load to help us with the load

Friday Night Smile I'll mix the margaritas and you cut up the lime I'll take your hairpins out and to let your hair hang down I'll turn the music up just to watch you spin around As you catch me in the spell of your Friday night smile I've been waiting since the morning to see you with your Friday night smile You wear your sky blue dress and we'll head into town Sit out on the balcony and watch the stars come out I fell the weight of the day start to melt away As you catch me in the spell of your Friday night smile I've been waiting since the morning to see you with your Friday night smile You look like a child when you smile your Friday night smile I'll mix the margaritas and you cut up the lime I'll take your hairpins out and to let your hair hang down I'll turn the music up just to watch you spin around As you catch me in the spell of your Friday night smile Your eyes they shine like sunlight on the waves You look like a child when you smile your Friday night smile

How Do You Say Goodbye? She was holding his hand on the night he died At his side as she'd been for 60 years as his wife And she kissed his eyes and rained her tears down on his face As she held him tight in a last embrace How do you say goodbye to the one you gave your life? He was light as a bird moving slower by the day It was as if he'd sent what he needed up ahead When the news came through that his grandson had been born With ten fingers and ten toes he was ready to go How do you say goodbye to the one you gave your life? He took the bride he married, before the war broke out She put up anti-Nazi posters in Berlin He took the girl who would never return to her home once she'd heard about the bombing She stayed strong for him She carried on for him She kissed his eyes and rained her tears down on his face How do you say goodbye, when what you want with all your heart is to follow?

Down The River Hold me Hold me like a child I am so tired of walking these streets alone Won't you hold me for a while Carry me On your shoulders carry me high Gravity is my sworn enemy Won't you carry me for a while Next time you see my lover With her eyes underground Tell her I chased the stars down the river... Tell her this time I was floating with angels Tell her this time I was light as the air Tell her this time I was drunk on the stars singing her name Swallow me Swallow me like a stone I was burning when I fell to earth won't you release me, release me release me Tell her this time I was floating with angels Tell her this time I was light as the air Tell her this time I was drunk on the stars singing her name all the way to the sea...

about

Recorded mostly in the lounge room of Dorisville in Katoomba and at MonoNest studio on the south coast of NSW, Australia, "Greetings from Dorisville" combines the creative talents of Syd Green and Matt Tonks on a new album of songs by singer-songwriter Nic Danta. Several tracks feature the smooth bass playing of Richard "Bongo" Davidson and the beautiful cello playing of Felicity Tonks.
